A native of Salt Lake City, Alan began his musical training at the age of 7 when he began piano lessons. At age 12, he became interested in the organ and started organ lessons also. During his teenage years, he studied organ with one of the Tabernacle organists on Temple Square in Salt Lake City. Recently retired from a career in banking software development, Alan is currently the organist for his congregation. He has written over 300 hymn introductions and interludes that he uses for the Sunday congregational singing.
